The South Shropshire Hills are designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the village of Norbury is a Conservation Area. There are many interesting sites locally from iron-age forts to the fascinating old market town of Bishops Castle.
Enjoy exploring old drover's tracks deep into the hills, and walking through quiet countryside rich in wildlife. There are several wonderful walks from the village with printed routes, maps and local knowledge available. Bring a bike or hire one locally to get even further afield.
Norbury is also an excellent base for touring by car; Ludlow, Shrewsbury, Church Stretton, Leominster and Hereford are all but a pleasant drive from here.
The Birthplace of Industry at Iron Bridge, a 'World Heritage Site', is about forty-five minutes to the East, and the wild mountains of the Snowdonia National Park lie to the West. The roads are usually free from traffic and still very enjoyable to explore.
